The Kush International Family comprises all descendants of our ancestor, “Cush” or “Kush”. He is the first known African slave in our extended family.
We are the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th generation of “Cush” or “Kush”. Information on family history in the United States came from the Alabama Census report and Clay County records dating back to 1860. Verbal history dates back to 1790 or 1810 (the year of Calvin’s birth).
We are direct descendants of Cush Carmichael, father of Sam Carmichael, father of Calvin Carmichael, father of Jimmy Carmichael, father of Martha Carmichael Patrick-Daniels, Wilma Lee Carmichael-Witchard, Willie B. Carmichael and Ida Mae Carmicheal.
